Day 32: The Hero's Journey

Have you ever heard of the "monomyth," also sometimes called the hero's journey? It's an idea, first put forth by Joseph Campbell, that many stories over time have had the same basic components. A hero starts on a journey, faces heartache and hardship, but overcomes and comes back home better for his or her adventure. There's a ton more detail you can read about here, but suffice it to say that on my particular adventure, while no hero, I'm definitely on "the road of trials" at the moment. Challenges are popping up; the temptation to take a break or stop altogether is pretty strong. Somehow I need to re-energize but I'm not 100% sure how to go about it. Right now "the advice, amulets, and secret agents" that the stories promise sound pretty darn good.
